Yo. Have posted all the items of post that I had, including my incredibly heavy book (ha! I foiled them by not including a letter. I love 'printed material only' rates ^_^) and my scary student loan form.
And all for less than £7.
I feel the urge for a redesign.
Also: Red Nose Day is next Friday! I bought myself a nifty pin badge as well as a red nose. Yee!

I am confused by Lent. And looking at the Bible confused me still more. So I am looking up Lent-things on the internet.
Anyway. Cleaning today was silly. The art room that I have to clean was occupied by a life class, so I couldn't clean it. So that was jolly.
Also, pancakes are gross.

Playing on
All Consuming, cause it talks about books.
I have to babysit today. So, before that, I shall do maths coursework and finish my homework as well.
Two pieces of post from universities today - Manchester inviting me to look at accomodation, and Durham telling me they're changing phone numbers. Oh the excitement. I want interesting post!
That reminds me, I have a couple of overdue pieces of mail-art. Still, after I babysit I'll have the cash for postage, so that's okay. All the projects are getting to me at once!
Anyway. Nothing else.

The entirety of my physics notes from Thursday's physics lesson (dictated notes, mind you): "1 Tesla is a lot. Also, 1 Farad is really, really big."
That was the only lesson I had that day.
And the point of me getting up was...?

So my darling brother (who as I'm sure you all know is not my greatest fan) came top in Science, and his English teacher phoned the parents to sing his praises. Although possibly this did not involve any actual singing. So, y'know, woo! (Heh. Lisa-isms.)
A good day today.
I got a lot of work done in my first free, so I have much less to do at the weekend. And in Further Maths (we were doing 'expressing cos ax in terms of powers of cos x', joy) I actually understood it. Plus Miss Maltwood didn't seem that distressed by me handing in homework covered in footprints.
Then was free of Friday, when almost everyone has a free (except Kathryn...) so we have fun. And do no work despite our good intentions. Ah well.
Lauren has a car now, at last, so that's good.
Also, our joyous holiday thing is sorted ^_^ - me, Lauren, Kathryn, Emily, Zara and Nina are going to Cornwall for a week of funness. Although we have been informed that we have to sleep in the beds, not anywhere else. Meh. I wanted to sleep on the floor.
And, a quote from my dearest Rhi (Rhi of Oz, rather than of Alresford):
Rhi: The deeply sad and pathetic thing is that I am female and I don't even know how to fasten/unfasten a bra properly. I can just see it when I get older - "Hang on, let me take off my bra. *fumble, swear* Uhh...can I have some help here?" Heh.
Me: Hah. I have the same problem :)
Rhi: Let's not have a threesome anytime soon, then... Us: *fumblefumble, swearswear, rrriiip* Other person(s): *leaves in disgust* Ahaha.
Me: Well okay, but you should realise this changes my plans for the next few nights *eg*
Rhi: Terribly sorry. I shall have to keep in mind your busy schedule next time :D
Hehe.

Argh... Trillian has died on me. Dammit. I need to talk to AOL people
and MSN people!
What I don't understand is how it is possible to injure yourself playing piano. Stupid Chopin. How am I meant to play such a stupid chord? Noone's hands are that big.
Ow ow.

I have finished Final Fantasy X! Are you proud?
In other news, stackloads of maths coursework.

The joy of school. Especially after two days of insomnia. I think I actually fell asleep in physics today (not that he noticed) - something to do with MRI?
But it's nice to see everyone again. I'll miss them when we've left school. Still... September-related happies!

Ah joy. Half-term is almost over and we will be back to the wonders of maths and physics.
I did about 200 words of coursework. Oops. Maybe I'll do some more later.
Yawnorama. I have indeed watched far too much Red Dwarf this week, but hey. I like it.
Man, I'm sleepy.
And noone is online but Rich and Lana, and both of them have away messages. Sigh.

I hate shopping for clothes. It's almost as bad as shopping for shoes.
I now own one more pair of trousers and two more tops. And two belts.
Matthew has shown me the Sims on PS2 in order to convince me that it is not the same as the version on PC which we
already have.
I still think they're the same :)

Kathryn's gathering was most fun and yearbooky - bad photos of myself and amusing limerick-esque poetry ^_^

j0. It is half term and so I am most pleased. Also, Lisa has returned from the orchestra thing and bought me a Red Nose. You get free hairgel with them this year ^_^
Tomorrow I'm going to Kathryn's for a yearbook-making session. Last night I babysat for Heidi. I hate doing that, but you know - money is always good.
24 is on today!

Many apologies for inflicting a quiz on you, but:

what number are you?
this quiz by orsa
How totally apt is that?

My maths homework is trying to kill me. Either I've got it wrong, or it takes someone 1067 minutes to eat a hamburger. Methinks not.
I must do more coursework also.
I sorted out my work schedule so that I'm no longer cleaning the same room as someone else. So now I clean F13, which I believe is Mrs Hatwell's art room. An art room, anyway. Which good be bad. So it gets left until last, otherwise I'd spend all day cleaning it and not touch any of the other rooms.
Heh. Mish just invented "the law of inverse sense". Hee hee.
Did I mention that next week is halfterm! W00t! No school for a week, much FFX, much RD, maths coursework (blech) and Kathryn's yearbook-planning gathering. I wish it was April though: Easter holidays, my birthday,
and I'm going to see Luvsie while she's in London. So it's all cool.
Oh: must remember to change my email signature.
I'm reading an HP Lovecraft book, seeing as like everything I read at the moment refers to his work and I have no idea about it. It's... spooky. And dark. But I like it.
I may possibly have bought a book yesterday, but don't tell anyone ^_~ oh, and lots of stationery also.
FFX is in its final stages... I have defeated Sin, but not Seymour (well, I don't think... I've killed him three times but he keeps coming back...) or Yu Yevon. But at the moment I'm trying to get the last Al Bhed Primer and find some Level 4 Key Spheres while I'm at it, because I want Ultima. So I'm in the Omega ruins.
Too lazy to find the Celestial Weapons and that, though. Although I do have Anima, thanks to the wonders of auto-life. Geosgaeno always dies while eating someone, so he explodes and kills all my characters. Keeps turning them into stone and shattering them, too. But I have done it!
Maybe I
should try and find the Cloudy Mirror for the Celestial Weapons. But I'm lazy and I don't really need them at this precise second.
Ah the wonders of FFX.
Lisa is ill today :( so she will be home when I get back this afternoon. I only have two lessons, it being Wednesday, so I can go home at about ten to one.
On the bus this morning, for some reason, Ryan, Jenni, Rhiannon, Bekki, Alice and Florence decided that they had to speak only in words with four letters. So that was odd. And Florence kept using five-letter words. Hm.
I am so bored, can you tell? And I bet there're people in our form room so I can't go back, anyway.
Never mind, this'll do.

Oh: and I love the BBC3 blobs.
-- scrawled by Katy on Monday, February 10, 2003, 08:11 p.m.
My Red Dwarf S2 DVD has arrived! But I cannot watch it yet, I still have Star Trek from the other day and Second Coming and everything else that's on today. Thank goodness it's nearly half term ^_^
School was school-like, although I wasn't feeling particularly mathematical today which isn't great. And in physics we're now doing Body Mechanics, which is a combination of biology and levers. Blech. But at least I get to say 'fulcrum'. Good word.
Cleaning was blah-like, although me and um... Emma (I think?) appear to be cleaning the same room. F14. If F14 is in fact the room I think it is. But nevertheless, we are both cleaning it. I must remember to ask Sherry about this, seeing as F13 and F3 are conversely being cleaned by noone.
And I need more furniture polish. Yes.
Did anyone see the first part of Second Coming, by the way? It was creepy. And it made me feel depressed in the same way as watching the news does, going on about genetic modification and the impending fuel crises and so on. But I loved it nonetheless. Very subtle special effect, with the eyes and all. I love.
Part two is tonight, so that's good. I thought it would be on Sunday again, which would be at the same time as the first episode of the second series of 24. ::dies of tv::
And a new series of Harry Hill :) - fab. I nearly typed 'a new serious'. Heh.
Noone is online! Well, except Rich and Gini. But I don't particularly want to talk to them at this precise moment. I want to talk to Rhi and people like that.
Ah well.
I need books.

I love my new work schedule! Two IT rooms and no toilets as well! Fabulous. Although the Philip Morant girls seem to be not doing a lot... ah well, I'm not exactly queen of hard working.
Friday Group Therapy:
1. Have you ever been addicted to a substance? If so, how did you get started and how did you deal with it? If not, why not?
Hm... does caffeine count? Only caffeine, and chilli.
2. Have you ever known someone who was addicted to a substance? If so, how did you deal with it?
No. Oh, except my dad, with cigarettes. I just coughed pointedly, he wanted to give up anyway.
3. Have you ever taken any legal addictive substances? How did that go?
Er... caffeine? And alcohol? Fine, thanks.
4. Have you been tempted to take any illegal addictive substances? How did that go?
No.
5. Did/do you party a lot in high school and/or college? Why or why not?
No, I'm a loner. Although tomorrow is partyage.
6. What do you think of people who get addicted to substances?
Fine by me, as long as they don't inflict it on other people.
7. How do you feel about psychological addiction as opposed to physical addiction?
Hm. Like with shopping? Lots of people are shopping addicts. I think it's just a brain thing.

I got my Final Decision letter from UCAS today... I have until April 28 to decide whether Durham or York should be my insurance offer, and I'm visiting Durham in March sometime.
Oh! And Kathryn got an offer from Durham! Much joy :)
So: if I go to Bristol, I'll be with Gemma, if I go to Durham, I'll be with Kathryn and Emily (and um... Lucia and some other people, I expect) and if I go to York... uh. Don't know.
Anyway. I'm reading A Clockwork Orange. It's weird.

Good morrow.
Today, Mrs Davidson approved of my hair, Kathryn asked me if I was pregnant (part of a confusing other conversation), I cleaned really quickly with the help of PhilipMorant!Alice, I found out that after our sections for cleaning are changed (which will start to affect me on Friday) I will no longer have the top floor toilets (woohoo!) and many other amusing things happened.
Oh, and Mr Bowles showed us photos of the inside of his wife (a foetus, that is). Blech.
Do you like the orangeness of the page? Okay, it's not really a redesign, I just changed the colours. But still.

Today I got my first ever Valentine's Day card :)
Happy!
Lauren gave out invitations for her Murder Mystery party at the weekend... sound fun, although I need to acquire goggles for the occasion, apparently.
Also Kathryn is having a yearbook-planning party.
:: is happy::

"Ah! There's nothing like unconditional praise on a Sunday afternoon to make you feel go-od!"
Hee... Kerry makes me laugh :)
Lisa's orchestra were marvellous today, although I appear to have kept my miraculous ability to not hear violins or flutes when other instruments are playing (ah, the loss of high frequency sound...) which made the balance seem slightly weird.
I miss being in the orchestra. But piano and orchestra don't really mix, and I'm not allowed to play the trumpet again until this brace is out.
I was going to write "::glares at brace::" but that wouldn't really be physically possible, would it?
Ah well. I shall ask the ortho people next time I'm there.
In other news... I have played way to much FFX recently (20 hours since Friday!) and also cannot find my buspass. However, I did find many of my CDs, including Inkubus Sukkubus, the Beatles and Gackt, so yay!
-- scrawled by Katy on Sunday, February 2, 2003, 05:56 p.m.
Lisa's orchestra thing is tomorrow.
But today I have playing FFX and reading, and that's all :)

Well: I'm back. Sorry for the hiatus, but much stuff has been going on, and also... I'm just lazy :)
Sorry!
Okay, what has been happening. Well, I have dyed my hair orange for one thing... I love it, Matthew hates it, so it's all good.
Today, school was closed because of snow. Which was fabulous, and amused Noora because (as she rightly says) if the same rule applied in Finland, noone would ever go to school. And I would be jealous of her.
Exams sucked, but never mind: I can always resit. And now, when I get my results, I will have completed 2 A Levels already. Fabulous.
I got an offer from York, and the interview was bizarrely non-scary. Also, I spent the whole 2-hour train journey from York to London talking to this guy Rich, so that was fun.
And then I had flu, which sucked.
Next weekend Lauren is having a murder mystery party :) so I am happy. Oh, and also DWCon '04 tickets are on sale!
Plus, I am master of FFX.
Well, I need liquid and Lisa needs the computer... farewell for another short while :)
